Comments: We had our 50th reunion last weekend and I must commend the committee for a fabulous time. The cocktail party, tour of the high school and the dinner were the best ever. What fun Friday seeing so many, some of whom I had not seen since the night of graduation. Saturday the tour and game brought back many memories and that night the dinner and dancing, as well as the karaoke, was great fun. Hats off to all those involved to make this such a success. Needless to say, my wife and I had a wonderful and joyous time.

Comments: Arthur "Buddy" Nemetz, (Class of 1982) recently had emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor. He is home now, receiving outpatient physical therapy to improve the motor skills in his right arm/hand. He will begin cancer treatments, radiation and chemotherapy, in the upcoming weeks. As a loving family member and amazing friend, Buddy has always been there for those he loves and cares about. Helping with everything from hanging lights in friends homes, to answering last minute requests for generators, to helping run the Bergen County 4-H Fair (30+ years), participating in many charity events over the last 30 years, and many other amazing things. Almost everyone knows Buddy in one way or another through work, his volunteer activities, and just around town. You might not know all he has done for the NJ 4-H Program. Buddy is a fixture of New Jersey 4-H! He has served in almost every volunteer role...President of the State 4-H Association and of the Bergen County 4-H Leaders Association (for many, many years). He has served as the volunteer chaperone for National Congress for nearly two decades. He has donated his time and talent to the NJ 4-H Camp since his days as a camper and counselor. While this list is certainly not exhaustive, it is clear to see that Buddy has given an incredible amount of his time and energy to the 4-H program!
Please help support Buddy during this difficult time. Donations will be used for medical expenses, travel to and from treatments, and other expenses that may arise while Buddy works hard to KICK CANCERS BUTT!!
Thank you so much for your support and positive thoughts during this time. Help spread the word!

Comments: A contingent of Class of '66 Vietnam War veterans has been invited to help raise the National Colors October 15 before BHS' "Last Mitey Mites" Homecoming game against Fort Lee, October 15.
The game will be played in conjunction with the '66 Golden Anniversary Reunion, October 14-16 at Tenafly's Clinton Inn Hotel & Conference Center. The Board of Education, at its August 29 meeting, officially designated the annual BHS Homecoming as the return of "The Last Mitey Mites."
"Principal James Fasano and the BHS Administration have very kindly invited all '66 vets attending the Reunion to assist the BHS Color Guard in the flag-raising ceremonies against an old rival many of us remember from our days as Bergenfield Mites," said Reunion Chairman Gregory Germakian.
"Our class is proudly represented in all military service branches and we already have an impressive number of vets who have indicated they will attend both the overall Reunion and the game."
Bergenfield changed its nickname from the Mitey Mites to the present Bears at the start of the 1966-67 school year. The Class of '66 played the final BHS athletic event as Mites, falling in the Bergen County Baseball Tournament final, 8-3, to Lyndhurst.
Germakian, himself a 'Nam Era Navy vet, said over 150 '66ers, spouses and guests have already registered for the Reunion. For registration and Clinton Inn reservation information, '66ers should email: Registration prices vary depending on intention of attendance at some or all of "the Last Mitey Mite" events.

Comments: Last Saturday night I went to see Frankie Valli perform in Greenville South Carolina where I live and I got him to sign my 1965 yearbook !
When he saw the book he just said "Bergenfield" kind of questioning it.
I suppose didn't think he would find it in Greenville, SC but he was amazing at the age that he is still performing many shows booked until next summer and God bless him .

As part of the Class of '66's Golden Anniversary Reunion celebration, the Bergenfield Football Team will carry the revered name of "The Mighty Mites" October 15 when they host the Bridgemen of Fort Lee for the first time since 1962.
Principal Jim Fasano recently told the '66 Reunion Committee that BHS will recognize both '66's status as "The Last Mighty Mites" and the 50th anniversary of the nickname change to "The Bears" with a "Throwback Saturday" to coincide with the '66 Reunion, October 14-15-16, at Tenafly's Clinton Inn Hotel & Conference Center. (The game will also serve as the 2016 Homecoming for all classes.)
Mighty Mite memorabilia will be available (all proceeds to the Class of '17's graduation project) and all '66ers attending the 1 p.m. kickoff will be introduced during on-field pre-game ceremonies. Members of the '65-'66 band will also be invited to march with the '16-'17 band.
All 66ers needing Reunion registration and hotel reservation information should e-mail Any members of the '64, '65, '67 and '68 classes wishing to attend the October 14 Meet & Greet and/or the Formal Reception the next evening should also e-mail that address.
