About Mitchell : On 25 April 1969, Sergeant Mitchel Messing was serving with the 554th Reconnaissance Squadron, 553rd Reconnaissance Wing, 7th Air Force, in Thailand.

On that day, SGT Messing was killed when the aircraft in which he was a crewmember crashed over land due to a non-hostile action. His body was recovered.
Additional information: Sgt. Messing was a fatality in the April 25, 1969 crash of a US Air Force EC-121R, serial number 67-21493, with the call sign of Batcat 21. Rest in Peace!
